Cabo San Lucas is the beating heart of Los Cabos, with breathtaking beaches, an energetic nightlife, and a broad range of vacation activities. Perched on the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico, the city is said to mark the end of the world. Here the Mexican desert spills into the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, stretching a rocky arm into the mingling waters at Land's End. Once a small fishing village, where greats such as Ernest Hemingway came to fish, Cabo San Lucas now attracts over a quarter of a million visitors a year. In recent years, Cabo has become a playground for the rich and famous, with visitors including Brad Pitt, Ashton Kutcher, and Halle Berry.

The town is well-known for its world-class sport-fishing and golfing. Cabo San Lucas lays claim to some of the best sport-fishing in the world, with an abundance of marlin, sailfish, tuna, and dorado. The rich and diverse marine population also makes for excellent snorkelling and diving, earning it high praise from Jacques Cousteau. The area is also the golfing capital of Mexico, with six championship courses designed by well known legends such as Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones II, and Tom Fazio. These signature courses, with their spectacular mountain and ocean setting, are arguably the most picturesque in the world. Most are located on the Los Cabos Corridor, the hotel- and resort-studded strip between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The main draw to Cabo, however, is the unsurpassed beauty of its beaches, where white sand melts into the warm tropical waters. The beaches are popular for a broad range of watersports and vacation activities, such as surfing, jet-skiing, parasailing, and more. Some of the beaches have strong currents, so visitors are encouraged to ask at their hotel which are safe to swim at.

Cabo's city center, located around the marina, is a bustling kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and smells. Duty-free shopping is a strong lure for vacationers, who peruse the wares of street vendors, explore quaint artisan-run shops, and browse fashionable boutiques housing international labels. The ideal place to begin is Boulevard Marina, where there are ample opportunities to purchase silver, pottery, and authentic local art. Up-market boutiques are housed in the Puerto Paraiso Mall. As evening falls, exotic aromas from the many restaurants around the marina tempt diners with local and international cuisine. The fresh seafood is particularly renowned. The streets explode into life at night with a colourful atmosphere of riotous fun, as revellers of mixed ages enjoy the hopping bar and club scenes.

With average temperatures of about 80ºF in winter and 90ºF in summer, the sun shines almost all the year round, making Cabo San Lucas a rare paradise.
